On the K-theory of higher rank graph C*-algebras

Abstract. Given a row-finite k-graph Λ with no sources we investigate the K-theory of the higher rank graph C-algebra, C(Λ). When k = 2 we are able to give explicit formulae to calculate the K-groups of C(Λ). The Kgroups of C(Λ) for k > 2 can be calculated under certain circumstances and we consider the case k = 3. We prove that for arbitrary k, the torsion-free rank of K0(C∗(Λ)) and K1(C∗(Λ)) ...

Nonstable K-theory for Graph Algebras

We compute the monoid V (LK(E)) of isomorphism classes of finitely generated projective modules over certain graph algebras LK(E), and we show that this monoid satisfies the refinement property and separative cancellation. We also show that there is a natural isomorphism between the lattice of graded ideals of LK(E) and the lattice of order-ideals of V (LK(E)). When K is the field C of complex ...

Noncommutative Manifolds from Graph and K-graph C * -algebras

In [PRen] we constructed smooth (1, ∞)-summable semfinite spectral triples for graph algebras with a faithful trace, and in [PRS] we constructed (k, ∞)-summable semifinite spectral triples for k-graph algebras. In this paper we identify classes of graphs and k-graphs which satisfy a version of Connes' conditions for noncommutative manifolds.

6 Smooth K - Theory of Locally Convex Algebras

Smooth K-functors are introduced and the smooth K-theory of locally convex algebras is developed. It is proved that the algebraic and smooth K-functors are isomorphic on the category of quasi ⊗̂-stable real (or complex) Fréchet algebras.

K-theory for operator algebras. Classification of C∗-algebras

In this article we survey some of the recent goings-on in the classification programme of C-algebras, following the interesting link found between the Cuntz semigroup and the classical Elliott invariant and the fact that the Elliott conjecture does not hold at its boldest. We review the construction of this object both by means of positive elements and via its recent interpretation using counta...
